After Scotland’s best Eurobowl performance in 16-years BB_Jock is set to lead the team in Poland
Scotland under BB_Jock’s captaincy delivered its best Eurobowl performance in sixteen years in Budapest by securing Eurobowl hosting rights and a top half finish coming 14th in the Bowl. Whilst over in the Open the Scotland team managed a fantastic 13th out of 140 teams! It was against this very successful backdrop that Jock decided to stand for re-election.

Loki, Chair of the newly formed Team Scotland Council, having received a single nominated candidate announced on Saturday morning,
“I therefore duly declare that BB_Jock has been re-elected as Team Scotland Captain for Poland 26.”
Upon hearing the news from Loki and thanking him for taking on the new role of Chair of Council Jock’s reaction was immediate,
“For now, thanks to the squad as a whole for their support and their faith in me to carry on leading. I'm looking forward to Poland being Scotland's biggest Eurobowl turnout as we hunt for a top 10 finish.”

Jock’s manifesto and key aims for Poland
With an uncontested election a fair question that hangs in the air is what does Jock hope to deliver, how is he going to set about it - what can we expect from a second Eurobowl under his leadership?
As captain Jock has three core objectives in preparation for Warsaw, and for the Team Scotland set-up in the long term. He’s outlined them in his manifesto which you can read here.
However if you’re happy with the TL:DR at a high level:
Lead and manage Team Scotland to achieve a top ten finish in Eurobowl and a top 10% finish in the Europen - which would be our best-ever results.
Lead the Tartan Army to Warsaw, with at least forty Scottish coaches encouraged to attend, compete and enjoy a fun weekend together whilst highlighting the nation’s support for Eurobowl.
Grow and support the Scottish coaching community, helping every coach progress on their Blood Bowl journey.
How will selection work for Eurobowl XVII?
For Scottish coaches interested in representing Scotland at Eurobowl or even playing in the Europen as part of the Tartan Army there is an obvious question of ‘so how do I get selected to play for Scotland?’
The answer is it won’t be too dissimilar to the approach created by Jock last year. There will be a selection committee made up of the Captain, Vice Captain, Chair of Team Scotland Council and one other advisor who will review applications from coaches keen to be considered.
The selection criteria will be similar to last year, but with a few additions. For those interested in the selection criteria you can read it here. There will be a blog post detailing the process of applying and the timetable later this week, if you’re keen to play Blood Bowl in Warsaw representing the Scottish Blood Bowl Community stay tuned!
