Tournament Spotlight: Mayhem Bowl

Welcome to Scottish Blood Bowl's new feature, the Tournament Spotlight, where each month we will be speaking to one of Scotland's TO's about their event and finding out a little bit about their history and giving you some more information about these amazing events. First up we have Mayhem Bowl led by Andrew MacKay (Stoddieboy) which is hosted in Elgin, the North of Scotland.

When was the tournament first established?

2025

What inspired the creation of the tournament?

A growing blood bowl community around Elgin and the lack of tournaments around the area.

How has the event grown or evolved over time?

We had 22 players last year and so far we are at 28 this year. I’m always humbled that people want to come to the event.

What is the typical number of participants in previous years?

Last year was our 1st time running it with 22 players

Who has won the event?

Liam Andrew (Philb3y) with his goblins (amazing 🤣)

Any memorable moments or highlights from past tournaments?

I’m sure Huntlyloon pulled off 3 dodges, a strip ball, a catch, 2 more dodges and a TD all in tackle zones against NotDave using a single player in round 1.

Has the tournament hosted any high-profile players or teams?

Lots a excellent coaches the standard is high

Are there records or statistics associated with the event? Where can these be found?

Search on tourplay for mayhem bowl for last years results and achievements.

What impact has the tournament had on the local or wider community?

I think it’s shown new players that tournaments are not daunting and everyone is friendly and happy to help.

Do you have sponsors or partners?

Demonscape for the amazing trophies and merch for all participants , patriot games for producing a custom pitch for the event and Draco games for giving us prize support.

Are there any special themes or features at your tournament?

Last year Giants were allowed unfortunately GW has not updated the rules yet so sadly they are participants in the stands watching this year but will be back I’m sure. We also run the summer weather table since it’s in June just for something a little bit different.

What are your future plans for the tournament?

Would love to grow it year on year we have a large venue with chattering and a great hobby shop above that’s stocked with lots of shinny stuff.

Is there anything else participants or spectators should know?

Come along, you won’t be disappointed it’s a lovely venue and we are all a friendly bunch up North.
