As Scotland’s Vice Captain is announced!
I’m sure the highlights of the weekend in Budapest didn’t pass you by as Team Scotland came home with a top half finish in the Bowl, 13th out of 140 teams in the Europen. Most importantly we also secured the coveted Eurobowl Hosting rights where our community will be given the honour to host Eurobowl XVIII in Glasgow in 2028.

Quite a haul of baubles and our most successful Eurobowl since Italy in 2009. Not only that but it was also our biggest travelling contingent with a record-breaking thirty-one Scottish coaches bringing to life the meaning of The Tartan Army!
However, before we get to Glasgow, all roads must lead through Warsaw on 17-18 October next year at Eurobowl XVII. If you’re interested in attending either as part of the official Team Scotland or the wider Tartan Army then read on and raise your hand.
What is the Target for Eurobowl in Warsaw
The big target for years was hosting rights - tick, done, so now what? The focus for Team Scotland is threefold:
Achieve a Top 10 finish in Eurobowl
Achieve a Top 10% finish in Europen
Support the Eurobowl movement in preparation for Glasgow by having a travelling Tartan Army of at least forty coaches!
An important part of my captaincy is to encourage and support Scottish coaches from all over to have the confidence to travel to Eurobowl, whether as part of the official Scotland team or in the Europen enjoying the experience as part of the Tartan Army.
Join the Tartan Army for a great weekend
Every Scottish coach, and friends of Scottish Blood Bowl will be welcome to join The Tartan Army, especially if it's your first overseas trip for a tournament. The aim will be to create a sense of a wider team where coaches will benefit from:
Squad socials on Thursday and Sunday night of Eurobowl weekend
Tartan Army shirts to fly the Saltire in Warsaw and at other tournaments throughout the year
Potential opportunity to attend Team Scotland Residential training weekend

Vice Captain and Selection Committee Announced
I’m delighted to announce my first pick for the Team Scotland Squad - your Vice Captain, Sann0368! Mike is a six-time capped coach, Scotland’s data guru and was recently recognised with the Community Award at Eurobowl in Budapest. I’m delighted he’ll be bringing his years’ of experience to the team in Warsaw.

Along with Sann, the Selection Committee will be made up of Loki, as Chair of Council for Team Scotland and long-time servant of the community, Ant - Purdindas. Between the four of us we have a good number of years of experience in the game and I’m confident the three of them will help me in the selection process.

UK Masters in York - Highly Recommended
It may well be too short notice, but if you’ve not signed up to the UK Masters, set to be held on the weekend of 29-30 November in York then I’d highly recommend considering entering.

It will undoubtedly be a fun weekend and a great opportunity to test yourself against top coaches from all over. Moreover, there are five Scotland Capped coaches attending so you’ll be in good company!

Once you’ve submitted your Application for Team Scotland you’ll be sent a Roster exercise, which will be used to see how you approach Blood Bowl, and to start our team’s research into preferred races and rosters. This will be particularly important this year with the new Season Rules just about to drop.
